His daughter's 15 day wedding celebration theme integrated the five senses and cleverly added a sixth sense.
Upon arrival at the airport, the 80 friends and family were greeted by a local band to listen to while everyone found their luggage. They were also given a bag. The front of the bag was stamped with a formal good morning greeting, "Jedibonjou" and was full of goodies that represented the 5 (+ 1) senses. The bag had the following in it:
Taste: Recipe cards of all the foods they would be eating during the wedding
Sight: Colorful 15 day program showing photos of all the different activities they would take part in (all optional of course): 2-3 Beach days, a run/walk in a marathon, a visit to a rum distillery, scuba diving, a hike in nature, snorkeling, scavenger hunt, boat to a secluded island, a walk up St. Pierre mountain (volcano), jet ski, shanty-noelle (sing Christmas carols, eat, drink), and last but not least the ceremony and reception.
Hearing: The band played upon arrival at the airport and in the bag was a CD full of music that would be playing at the wedding.
Touch: Sunscreen for all the different outdoor activities to ensure they would not burn.
Smell: Spices that were integrated into the foods and event. D'iande (wood from India) that grows in Martinique and gilofile (a type of curry).
Sixth sense - The Mind: Schedule for a day long team scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt was arranged by separating everyone into teams of five. Each team was issued a rental car and assigned a name based on a beach in Martinique to accomplish the tasks. The winning team won a special local gift from Martinique.

A few days later, Emille met us at the airport to wish us well on the rest of our journey. I'm loving this experience and all the wonderful people I'm meeting!
