Rotary Club of Saint Vincent South

March 16 - The team attended the dinner meeting of the Rotary Club of Saint Vincent South in Kingstown. The club meets at the seaside Beachcomber Villa restaurant - probably one of the nicest venues to hold a Rotary meeting. The club president is Dalia McDowall (above photo).

Lillah had an exceptional vocational exchange visit today - she not only visited the courts, but was able to tour the jail. She spoke with both staff and inmates.

Rick thanked the club for its efforts to provide us with a meaningful exchange. He presented - after the usual too-long explanation - a "HEROES" myrtle wood medallion in the name of District 5110 Governor John Cox to club president Dalia McDowall.

Shelly conducted the banner exchange with club secretary Glenda Joyette, who also is her host family on Saint Vincent.

One of the club's projects is also a fundraiser. This is a bus stop shelter to provide some shade from the hot Caribbean sun. The club sells advertising space on the structure to generate funds for its other projects.
